Terrestrial Resource Management Team
The Terrestrial Ecosystem Sciences Team at ESSA Technologies Ltd. is looking for a qualified and talented individual to join our group at the senior level, as Team Leader. The position carries with it an emphasis of developing new initiatives within North America and also involves work on existing projects and research areas. Over the past 28 years, ESSA Technologies has built a solid reputation – undertaking challenging ecosystem management projects for a wide diversity of clients, using an appropriate mix of technical facilitation, simulation modeling, statistical analysis, monitoring design and adaptive management. Our team’s primary project domains include landscape analysis, terrestrial ecosystem modelling, forest health modelling, habitat modelling, and carbon accounting. The successful candidate will help extend and grow our expertise in these and related domains.
The successful candidate must meet the following criteria:

A strong background in Forestry or Terrestrial Ecology |

Demonstrated experience in application / interpretation of simulation models |
|
Minimum M.Sc. university degree and 5 years experience in applied forestry or ecology |
|
Excellent command of written and spoken English |
The candidate must also have a background in at least three of the following areas: ecological modelling, adaptive management, landscape or forest analysis, forest resource management, climate change, forest certification, facilitation, and proposal writing. A skill set, experience, and network that complements our existing team is a very strong asset. Personal attributes of particular value include a commitment to scientifically rigorous work, an ability to work well individually and with a team, and good interpersonal skills with clients and others in the company.
The successful candidate will be based in our head office in Vancouver, Canada, will have the responsibility of supervising others, and will be eligible to participate in existing profit-sharing incentive schemes.
