Technical Support for PrognosisBC
ESSA has been contracted by the British Columbia Ministry of Forests and Range to provide technical support for PrognosisBC, a forest stand projection model being used by the Ministry to simulate the growth and mortality of individual trees in a stand. The tool is typically used to project an existing stand from a ground-based inventory. Its strengths include an ability to simulate almost any form of harvest and retention, and to simulate the impacts of root disease.
The modelling system can be downloaded for free. Detailed download instructions can be found here.
Technical support is provided through toll-free telephone support that provides one-on-one assistance to users. ESSA support staff are available during regular business hours to assist with questions about installation, using the model, interpreting results, and understanding model behaviour. If demand warrants, a web-based forum may be re-initiated in 2009.

To receive live, one-on-one support for your PrognosisBC issue, call the PrognosisBC Support Centre toll free. An operator will attempt to assist you immediately. If the problem you are experiencing cannot be resolved by the operator, it will be documented and transferred to a member of the development team who will contact you as soon as possible.
PrognosisBC is also supported by an extensive and in-depth library of downloadable resources available on ESSA’s website.
