Environmental Impact Assessment and Adaptive
Management Training Course, Colombia
EduWest International Consulting Corporation
ESSA designed and delivered a two-week course
on the theory and techniques of Environmental Impact Assessment
(EIA) and Adaptive Environmental Assessment and Management (AEAM)
to Colombian natural resource managers, the private sector, and
to academia. This course formed a key component in the overall goal
of the Canada-Colombia Human Resource Development Project (HRD)
to introduce Integrated Watershed Management to Colombia. The course
consisted of lectures and practical exercises on the concepts and
theory of EIA and AEAM as practised in Canada. The course was structured
to provide Colombian professionals with hands-on application of
the techniques of EIA and AEAM to current Colombian watershed management
issues and problems.
