State of Environment Reporting for the Banff-Bow
Valley

ESSA was engaged to contribute to the research
and writing, and to co-ordinate production, of a State of the Banff-Bow
Valley report. The completed report documents the state of the ecological,
economic, social and cultural environment in the Banff-Bow Valley,
and provides information on past trends for indicators where such
information was available.
ESSA designed the framework for the report, facilitated
the process of information provision among the project participants,
prepared the portions of the report pertaining to the environmental
system (atmosphere, geomorphology, water, land, biota, and biodiversity),
and compiled this with other sections to produce the complete report.
Several rounds of revisions were conducted, with input from the
project Task Force and the public. This complex, multi-disciplinary
project provides a good example of ESSA's ability to effectively
present technical material to a varied audience.
