ESSA Supporting Climate-Informed EIA and Assessing Climate Vulnerability in El Salvador

June 10, 2015

ESSA  Technologies  Ltd.  has  been  retained  by  the Climate & Development Knowledge Network (CDKN)  to  provide  technical  assistance  to  the  Government  of El Salvador on climate-compatible development. Together with our partners WESA-BluMetric Environmental Inc., the ESSA-led team will support the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARN) of El Salvador to meet two key objectives:

  • To integrate climate resilient, low-carbon considerations into national environmental impact assessment (EIA) requirements; and
  • To conduct a national multi-hazard vulnerability assessment for priority infrastructure sectors –  including energy, water, transport, health and education – strengthening the country’s disaster preparedness, response and climate resilience.
